Title 20 (Appliance Efficiency Regulations) – new appliance efficiency standards in the state of California require LED and other types of lamps manufactured after January 1, 2018 to be state-certified. Selling non-certified lamps in CA that are covered by these regulations can result in significant fines.

Title 24 (Building Standards) – Title 24 outlines energy efficiency standards that apply to the construction of buildings in California. In residential applications, the code requires high-efficacy light sources as defined by Joint Appendix 8 (JA8).
