Aveda Cosmetology School:
The Aveda Institute of Denver, Colorado, a school for cosmetology and spa therapy, was lit by 45 suspended 250-watt metal halide highbay fixtures that were dim, industrial looking and difficult to maintain. The facility was able to achieve the desired light levels while reducing the overall fixture count using just 36 of the 80-watt Polygon models in a 3500K color temperature.
-- "As stylists, it is essential to have lights that create even balance, true color and minimal heat. At Aveda, environmentally conscious choices are so important to our building and these lights allow us to live our mission and create an amazing environment for our guests. We have incurred less redo services because our guests now see the true colors in their hair." -- - Dale LeMonds, owner Aveda Institute Denver

University of Utah:
The university replaced 40 200-watt incandescent can lights throughout two classrooms with 36 of MaxLite's 50-watt 2’x2’ Direct Lit LED Flat Panels. Also, 46 11-watt PAR30 LED Lamps were installed in the front of the auditoriums. By switching to LED lamps and fixtures, the university is expected to save 690,100 kWh in energy and $87,572 in energy and maintenance costs throughout the L70-rated 50,000-hour life.
-- "We wanted to go LED because they last longer, but I didn’t think 18 flat panels in one classroom would be enough light," said -- Craig Erickson, construction manager at the University of Utah. "We were pleasantly surprised once they were installed, and everyone just loves them. The light is 75 percent better than before, and the products dim so well. We have some more classroom renovations coming up, and we will be using MaxLite products again. I want to make this lighting our standard across campus, wherever we can."
