YMCA Esic Center
After completing a successful lighting upgrade at its sister property, the Meyer Center, MaxLite and Cool City Lights were called upon to retrofit the YMCA of Edwardsville, Illinois Esic Center and Early Childhood Development Center with energy-efficient LED lamps and luminaires. A full range of MaxLite LED lamps and luminaires were chosen for the project based on lumen output, reliability, energy savings and overall cost effectiveness. By switching to LED, the ESIC Center will save more than 200,000 kWh and $33,000 in energy and maintenance costs annually.
“Our members and guests have certainly noticed the improved lighting in our three facilities and appreciate it. “The energy and maintenance savings of switching to LED lighting in our facilities is significant and will have a very positive impact on our operational budget for many years to come.” -- Gary Niebur, president/CEO of the Edwardsville, YMCA

YMCA Meyer Center
Recognizing the important role lighting plays in providing a safe and comfortable environment in which members can explore the many programs the center has to offer, management at the YMCA Meyer Center decided to replace the facility’s inefficient fluorescent and incandescent fixtures with energy- and maintenance-saving LEDs. More than 1,800 fluorescent T8, high-output T5 and compact fluorescent lamps (CFLs) were retrofitted or replaced with 1,300 MaxLite LED T8 18-watt lamps throughout the center. The parking lot was also upgraded with MaxLite’s 405-watt StaxMAX LED flood lights, replacing the existing 1000-watt metal halide fixtures. The Meyer Center’s estimated annual energy savings is 680,000 kWh and $68,000.

McGolf in Massachusetts
McGolf replaced 78 33-year-old 1,000-watt metal halide lighting fixtures throughout the small putting area and open driving range with 48 of MaxLite’s 270-watt StaxMAX™ LED Flood Lights, and four 405-watt models. The golf facility will save an additional 3,951,000 kWh of energy and $492,027 in energy and maintenance costs throughout the L70-rated 50,000-hour lifetime of the LED fixtures.
--“I’m most excited about how much less we will pay to operate these fixtures. Before, we didn’t turn on all of our lights in certain areas because it was very expensive, but now that is not a problem. Last month’s utility bill was already lower than the previous month, so I can’t wait to see how much lower our bills are after a year.” -- Marion McInerney, owner, McGolf
