MaxLite HighMax® Compact Fluorescent Lamps (CFL) were installed in the gymnasium of Mooseheart Child City and School Campus, located just outside of Chicago, as energy-efficient replacements for the existing high wattage metal halide and incandescent fixtures.

--“We are extremely happy with the quality of the new lighting by MaxLite,” explained Keith Strutz, Director of Facilities for Mooseheart Child City and School. “The lighting has been greatly improved and we have reduced energy consumption significantly with MaxLite’s energy efficient luminaires. The Arena-Auditorium at the University of Wyoming, home to NCAA Division I basketball, underwent a $30 million renovation in 2014 to upgrade the facility and enhance the fan experience. The University needed to meet the NCAA’s new National Television Broadcast Standard Requirements for tournament play on the court, which required a significant increase in the venue’s lighting. This was achieved using MaxLite StaxMAX high-output LED flood lights, which provided an immediate 50 percent energy savings over the metal halide fixtures they replaced. Seventy 1000-watt metal halide fixtures were replaced with a combination of 540-watt and 360-watt StaxMAX flood lights. The Arena-Auditorium has recognized immediate energy savings with the 50 percent reduction in wattage and will save $124,820 over the 75,000-hour lifetime of the fixtures.

“The versatility and adjustability of the MaxLite products are tremendous and allowed us to meet the desired lighting levels with a minimum number of fixtures, providing us the most efficient use of light. “This was very beneficial, as there is a limited amount of existing catwalk space to mount the fixtures, and we needed to laser aim the fixtures precisely from the computer-generated model to maximize the effectiveness of the light.” -- Ron Boone of R.J. McNutt & Associates

After completing a successful lighting upgrade at its sister property, the Meyer Center, MaxLite and Cool City Lights were called upon to retrofit the YMCA of Edwardsville, Illinois Esic Center and Early Childhood Development Center with energy-efficient LED lamps and luminaires. A full range of MaxLite LED lamps and luminaires were chosen for the project based on lumen output, reliability, energy savings and overall cost effectiveness. By switching to LED, the ESIC Center will save more than 200,000 kWh and $33,000 in energy and maintenance costs annually.

“Our members and guests have certainly noticed the improved lighting in our three facilities and appreciate it. “The energy and maintenance savings of switching to LED lighting in our facilities is significant and will have a very positive impact on our operational budget for many years to come.” -- Gary Niebur, president/CEO of the Edwardsville, YMCA

McGolf replaced 78 33-year-old 1,000-watt metal halide lighting fixtures throughout the small putting area and open driving range with 48 of MaxLite’s 270-watt StaxMAX™ LED Flood Lights, and four 405-watt models. The golf facility will save an additional 3,951,000 kWh of energy and $492,027 in energy and maintenance costs throughout the L70-rated 50,000-hour lifetime of the LED fixtures.

--“I’m most excited about how much less we will pay to operate these fixtures. Before, we didn’t turn on all of our lights in certain areas because it was very expensive, but now that is not a problem. Last month’s utility bill was already lower than the previous month, so I can’t wait to see how much lower our bills are after a year.” -- Marion McInerney, owner, McGolf
